a new approach to line cleaning

Strangely, in a world of stringent health and safety rules and intense scrutiny, the cleaning of beer lines is completely unregulated. So far. But this will undoubtedly change sooner or later. Traditional cleaners are cheap yet effective. However, they rely on harmful, highly caustic chemicals with an eye-watering pH.  These are dangerous and unpleasant for staff to use, harmful to the environment and can be lethal if accidentally swallowed by a customer.

Even cleaners marketed as ‘low-chlorine’ have a seriously high pH value, are harmful to aquatic life, and carry instructions to wear apron, goggles and gloves. None of this is necessary to achieve clean, sanitised lines.

 

So why take the risk?

SAFE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT, STAFF AND CUSTOMERS

EcoClenze is different and it is exclusive to us. With the ever-increasing focus on reducing our environmental impact, we wanted to find something safer, something that would clean just as effectively as caustic soda but without the risk of damage to flora, fauna and human health. We couldn’t find anything so we developed our own.

Working closely with a local, UK-based chemist, we created EcoClenze, which produces active oxygen to clean safely and just as effectively as the old, caustic cleaners. The only thing that goes down the drain is sodium carbonate and water. This also means that it is more pleasant for staff to use, and safe if accidentally swallowed.

It may not taste great but it won’t cause the serious burns and internal damage that occasionally happen when caustic products have not been thoroughly flushed.

SAFE FOR EQUIPMENT

 

Traditional, caustic cleaners also damage your beer lines with every clean. They cause brittleness plus pitting in the inner surface of the lines. This is where yeast likes to settle. So, the more you clean your lines with caustic soda, the more yeast build up you will get and the more often they will need cleaning.

 

EcoClenze can be safely left to soak overnight without damaging your lines. Combined with the LineClenze device, you can carry out a deep clean every month with no fuss, no hassle and no harm.

EcoClenze has a formulation of buffers and mild alkalis that make it safe on skin and soft materials such as stainless steel, aluminium and plastics. As an added environmental benefit, the oxygen also helps to reduce the biochemical, and chemical demand in the wastewater.

 

Dissolve 500g of EcoClenze in a litre of cold water and add to your cleaning water. Then allow it to soak in the lines for a minimum of 10 minutes, before pulling through the fonts.

 

Ratio is 500g dissolved solution to 50 litres of water.

 

EcoClenze is safe to use, odourless, effective at any temperature and is free rinsing making it a safe and pleasant product to use. The fact that it is environmentally friendly is a bonus.
