Protect was developed during lockdown and is designed to protect beer lines from damage caused by limescale and biofilm, that are to be left unused for an extended period. It works instantly and maintains protection for up to 180 days (about six months) but is also ideal for shorter closures of as little as 24 hours.
It’s particularly useful for bars with regularly changing guest ales that might have a few days in between finishing a barrel and a new delivery, clubs that open for only a few days in the week and of course mobile bars. Longer-term users include businesses with a lot of seasonality such as leisure parks that have a closed period that may be months.
It is used just like a line cleaner that you leave in until you’re ready to open up that line again then simply flush through with clean water. There is no need to clean your lines further.
